About Angel's Hope

Diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor on the day before his second birthday, Michael James Knapp bravely fought cancer for fifteen months before he passed away in August of 1995. And although he was here for much too brief a time, he did not leave before deeply instilling the message he was sent to share.

Guided by his love, patience and faith, those who were lucky enough to be graced by his presence were left with a tremendous gift. The strength of this spirit proves that love is truly boundless and his light continues to illuminate the path for those who follow.

Michael's family found that during the time he was ill, however, what they needed the most was support with the daily tasks and logistical obstacles. Someone to act as back-up and to help "take up the slack".

Suddenly their lives not only revolved around a two year old with a brain tumor and a seven month old younger son, but the world of cancer as well. Priorities changed quickly and the "normal" things most families do on a daily basis took a back seat. This normalcy was now replaced with hospital and clinic visits, treatments and procedures, fear, anger and confusion.

Left with very little support from family and friends, the frightening world of cancer became a lonely road as well...

Born from the love of a mother for her child, Angel's Hope was formed to help bridge the gap between caring for a child diagnosed with cancer, and the rest of the world. We can't always choose the path we walk, but we can reach out and grab a hand along the way.

Dedicated in loving memory of an angel who lit the way, Angel's Hope extends that hand to those who travel the same path.
